Wedge Wire - An Introduction
Wedge Wire is made from round wire which is first looped at regular pitched intervals and then pressed into deep wedge shaped section. The loops themselves are pressed so as to produce at each side accurately sized shoulders which butt together when the wires are assembled, |
The individual wedge wires are built into panels by threading cross rods of suitable diameter through the loops on the wires. |
Applications
Wedge wire is particularly suitable for making up into large floor areas. The unique properties of our looped wedge floors provide a smooth surface, uniform and accurate slots and mechanical strength unrivalled by other systems. |

SCREENTEX - Run Down Screens The Screen Systems range of Screentex run down screens offer a high capacity, cost effective method of solids/liquids separation utilising stainless steel wedge wire as the screening medium. Each unit is designed to suit the specific requirements of the customer. Consisting of a basic outer casing, which can be manufactured in mild steel or stainless steel, each unit incorporates a distribution chamber and feed weir; over which the effluent passes onto the wedge wire panel which is set at right angles to the flow to enable the separating process to commence. |
The separated solids collect on the lower half of the screen to drain and compact, they then slide by gravity onto a solids discharge chute. The extracted liquid passes through the wedge wire into an underflow collecting chamber, with a disposal outlet for either re-circulation or discharge. |

Profiles
FLAT TOP - The most commonly used profile giving good screening efficiency over the whole range in most applications. It is excellent for the de-watering of slurries and is extensively used in coal washeries |
CONICAL TOP - Designed particularly for fine mesh screens for de-watering slurries |
SQUARE TOP - Suitable for the larger aperture screens used with highly abrasive materials |
RIFFLE TOP - Combines most of the de-watering qualities of both flat and conical top profiles and is also widely used as an attractive non-slip finish for drainage grids and walkways |
