WEDGE WIRE FLOORING

Malt Kiln Floors | Mash Tun Floors | Grain Drying Flooring

Wedge wire floors, used for mash tun floors, malt kiln floors, and grain drying flooring, come complete with underbed. In addition, the cost of fitting is included. As a result, this makes them ultimately less expensive than competing types of drying flooring which are less efficient.

Because of their high load bearing capacity and the methods adopted for securing them to the underbeds, wedge wire flooring does develop uneven or broken areas, even after many years of service. For example, wedge wire flooring laid more than 30 years ago are still in good condition.

Wedge wire floors do not become blinded by matter when in use. Therefore, as well as freedom from repair costs, maintenance charges are low as they require no costly cleaning operations.

WEDGE WIRE FLOORS

MALT KILN FLOORS

MALT KILN FLOORS

Though not originally developed for use as malt kiln flooring, the unique features of wedge wire quickly led to its adoption for this purpose. Practical experience, extending over many years, has conclusively proved the superiority of Screen Systems stainless steel looped wedge wire over any other type of malt kiln flooring available.

Wedge Wire Malt Kiln Floors are built up to any desired size from panels of a maximum size of 4 metres long by 1 metre wide. They can be joined together to extend the length, and are suitably sealed to protect the ends of the wires. Panels can also be made interlocking if required. They are manufactured from looped wedge wire, typically made from 1.75 mm apertures x 32 flat top looped wedge wire.

MASH TUN FLOORS

Mash tun floors can be made to any size, in circles or square floors.

Screen Systems wedge wire mash tun floors do not become blinded by matter, as they are self cleaning; offering low maintenance properties and a cost effective solution. Mash tun floors are extremely reliable and long lasting, often performing in excess of 20 years.

They are manufactured from welded wedge wire, and typically made from 34Sb wire, and apertures at 0.75 mm; made in 304 or 316 stainless steel.
