Looped wedge wire screens are a type wedge wire screen. They work by separating materials such as solids from liquids, and smaller materials from bigger materials. Individual wires are put through a machine, looped at 70 mm and held together with cross rods. As a result this helps to achieve the accuracy of the slots and achieve the required aperture. The individual wedge wires are built into panels by feeding cross rods through the loops of the wires. The hole is clamped together and made secure, usually by riveting over the cross rod ends. Therefore the finished sieve is a grille made up of cross rods supporting profiled wires with loops. In addition, the usual materials for looped wedge wire screens are stainless steel grade 304, 316, 430 and mild steel.

We have produced a set of curved lower screens for a screw conveyor, rolled to a 240 mm radius, made in two halves and bolted together. as a result, it enables the walls to dewater as well as the curved section. The looped wedge wire is in 316 stainless steel. 1.6 mm aperture x profile 25 f, giving an open area of approx 36%. Also slot sizes can be made from 0.25 mm


Screen Systems have recently completed the production of a curved looped wedge wire screen for the coffee bean industry. The screen was designed and manufactured at the dimentions of 1.5mm (AP) x 70mm. 28F looped wedge wire was used. The wire diameter was 2.35mm from 304 stainless steel. The cross bar was 7.7mm while the side plate was 50mm x 10mm.
